32nd International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo
The worlds most exclusive and beautiful festival of circus arts will be celebrating
yet another year of talented circus artists.
The festival will run from the 17th to the 27th of January 2008
Created in 1974 by Prince Rainier III of Monaco, the Festival of the Circus of
Monte-Carlo has became the most important and prestigious festival in the
world. The "Gold Clown" is regarded as the supreme distinction by all the artists
of this discipline. Organized and chaired with enthusiasm by Stéphanie, Princess
of Monaco, the next Festival will present a selection of the best international
numbers, which will attract many spectators from around the globe.

| During the last week of February of 2008 is going to start the first edition of only International Circus Festival in Spain. Just like festivals as Wuquinao, Montecarlo or Paris, Spain works for having a window to the world for the promotion and spreading of circus arts. With the support of the Ministry of Culture of Spain, the International Circus Festival of Albacete is going to take place from 28th February to 2nd March, beneath the dome of the only theatre circus conserved in Spain. Build in 1887 and restored in 2002, the building of Theatre Circus (see attached photos) gives a framework without comparison for this amazing meeting of circus people. The International Circus Festival of Albacete is born with the purpose to present 20 circus attractions first-class and hopelessly new in Europe. Since his creation, this new meeting point claims become a door wide open to Europe for artists from other continents who want to open up their market. For this reason, the jury of the Festival is going to be formed by important directors of circus (Nikulin, Atayde, Heller, Mauclair, and others…), as well as the main artistic agents and the editors of circus magazines are invited. The International Circus Festival of Albacete, in his first edition, will be the festival of the discovery, in which only are going to act the companies who have never been in Europe. With this Festival, Spain wants step forward towards the circus renovation contributing new faces in the European circus. |
